Copper State Models is a 3D-printed self-assembly model of the British military bicycle in its classic Mark IV pattern in 1:32 scale. The bicycle was a widely used, quiet means of transport for cyclist units and dispatch riders during the First World War.

The small 3D-printed parts faithfully reproduce the delicate construction of the frame, wheels and fittings, difficult to achieve in injection moulding.

Building the model:

The model requires careful separation of the parts from the print plates and cleaning of any print-support marks. Thin parts such as the frame, handlebars and wheel elements are delicate, so we recommend it to intermediate modellers and advise care during clean-up. The parts are joined with cyanoacrylate glue.

For painting, colours typical of period bicycles are recommended - a black or dark frame with metallic accents on the rims and drive components, and brown on the leather saddle. Picking out the detail with a wash will further emphasise the fine elements of the construction.
