Description

Eduard Brassin (3D print) workable Type 3A track set for Pz.Kpfw. III and Pz.Kpfw. IV models in 1:35 scale

The Eduard 635042 is a set of workable Type 3A tracks, 3D-printed, tailored to German Pz.Kpfw. III or Pz.Kpfw. IV tank models in 1:35 scale. The individual-link tracks reproduce the natural sag of the track run and a realistic fit over the wheels – an effect difficult to achieve with the stiff tracks of a base kit.

The set contains a complete set of links for one model, including links intended to be attached to the hull or turret as additional armour, in line with wartime practice.

What's in the box:

  • 3D-printed track links for one model – 240 parts
  • Links intended to be fitted as additional armour

Set specifications:

  • Scale: 1:35
  • Catalogue number: 635042
  • Manufacturer: Eduard (Brassin Print 3D line)
  • Dedicated kit: Pz.Kpfw. III and Pz.Kpfw. IV in 1:35 scale
  • Accessory type: workable individual-link tracks
  • Material: 3D print

3D-printed parts – fine detail unattainable with injection moulding

Brassin Print 3D accessories are produced using direct 3D printing, a technology that reproduces very fine and spatially complex details that are difficult or impossible to achieve with classic injection moulding. The parts replace the corresponding plastic parts of the base kit, raising the level of detail of the finished model.

The 3D-printed parts should be cut from their printing supports, cleaned up and attached with cyanoacrylate glue. Because the details are delicate, it is worth using precision tweezers and working carefully. The printed parts take paint well once primed.

About the vehicles – Pz.Kpfw. III and Pz.Kpfw. IV:

The Pz.Kpfw. III and Pz.Kpfw. IV were the two principal German medium tanks of the Second World War and formed the backbone of the Wehrmacht's armoured forces for most of the conflict. Both vehicles used similar running-gear components, including tracks of a comparable design, which simplified production and supply.

The Pz.Kpfw. III was originally designed to fight enemy vehicles, while the Pz.Kpfw. IV was a support tank with a larger-calibre gun; over time these roles blurred and the Pz IV was developed right up to the end of the war. A common practice was to attach spare track links to the hull and turret as improvised additional armour.

Original vehicle specifications (Pz.Kpfw. III / Pz.Kpfw. IV):

  • Crew: 5
  • Combat weight: approx. 22–25 t (depending on version)
  • Track width: 40 cm (typical for both vehicles)
  • Powerplant: Maybach petrol engine
  • Main armament: 50 mm gun (Pz III) or 75 mm gun (Pz IV), depending on version
  • Maximum speed: approx. 40 km/h (road)
  • Production: 1930s and 1940s
