Eduard CX216 is a set of self-adhesive 1:72 masks for painting the canopy framing and other glazing, and the wheel hubs, tailored to the Su-15 Flagon model from Trumpeter. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp edges without hand masking with tape. The base kit is not included.

Self-adhesive painting masks – crisp canopy frame edges

Eduard masks are self-adhesive stencils die-cut from low-tack yellow Kabuki masking paper suited to delicate model surfaces. They cover the clear areas of the glazing and leave only the canopy framing exposed, so that after airbrushing you get sharp, even frame edges – hard to achieve when masking by hand with tape.

The recommended method is to apply the masks to clean, degreased glazing, press the edges down firmly and then airbrush the paint. Once the paint has dried, the masks are removed. The masks are intended for single use and should not be left on the model for a long time.

About the aircraft – Sukhoi Su-15 (Flagon) (supersonic interceptor):

The Su-15 was a Soviet supersonic interceptor developed in the 1960s to defend the USSR against bomber aircraft. It was a twin-engine mid-wing aircraft with a delta wing, side air intakes and ground-controlled interception supported by its own onboard radar. It entered service as one of the standard interceptors of the air defence forces, supplementing earlier single-engine designs.

Its primary armament consisted of guided air-to-air missiles carried on underwing pylons, supplemented by gun pods. Successive variants received a modified wing, more powerful engines and updated avionics. The Su-15 gained notoriety through incidents involving the interception of civil airliners, including the shooting down of a Korean Air flight in 1983. The aircraft remained in service into the 1990s.
