Eduard CX446 is a set of self-adhesive 1:72 masks for painting the canopy framing and other glazing, and the wheel hubs, tailored to the RAF BE.2c model from Airfix. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp edges without hand masking with tape. The base kit is not included.

Self-adhesive painting masks – crisp canopy frame edges

Eduard masks are self-adhesive stencils die-cut from low-tack yellow Kabuki masking paper suited to delicate model surfaces. They cover the clear areas of the glazing and leave only the canopy framing exposed, so that after airbrushing you get sharp, even frame edges – hard to achieve when masking by hand with tape.

The recommended method is to apply the masks to clean, degreased glazing, press the edges down firmly and then airbrush the paint. Once the paint has dried, the masks are removed. The masks are intended for single use and should not be left on the model for a long time.

About the aircraft – Royal Aircraft Factory B.E.2:

The Royal Aircraft Factory B.E.2 is a British biplane of the First World War, used for reconnaissance, artillery observation, bombing and as a night fighter. The first examples appeared in 1912, and the most numerous and best-known variant was the B.E.2c. Fabric-covered fuselage on a wooden structure, an air-cooled inline engine, and a two-seat open cockpit.

The aircraft was highly stable, an advantage for reconnaissance but a limit on manoeuvrability in air combat, which made it easy prey for German fighters. Despite this the B.E.2 was produced in large numbers and used on many fronts and for home defence against airships. Successive versions differed in engines, armament and airframe details. In total about 3,500 aircraft were built.
