Eduard EX1135 mask set – canopy painting masks for the Ju 88A-4 model (ICM) in 1:48 scale

Eduard EX1135 is a set of self-adhesive 1:48 masks for painting the canopy framing and other glazing, and the wheel hubs, tailored to the Ju 88A-4 model from ICM. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp edges without hand masking with tape. The base kit is not included. The TFace version includes masks for both the exterior and interior of the glazing.

Self-adhesive painting masks – crisp canopy frame edges

Eduard masks are self-adhesive stencils die-cut from low-tack yellow Kabuki masking paper suited to delicate model surfaces. They cover the clear areas of the glazing and leave only the canopy framing exposed, so that after airbrushing you get sharp, even frame edges – hard to achieve when masking by hand with tape.

The recommended method is to apply the masks to clean, degreased glazing, press the edges down firmly and then airbrush the paint. Once the paint has dried, the masks are removed. The masks are intended for single use and should not be left on the model for a long time.

About the aircraft – Junkers Ju 88A-4:

The Junkers Ju 88 was a German twin-engined combat aircraft of the Second World War, one of the more versatile aircraft of its era. Originally designed as a fast bomber, it had a streamlined fuselage, a glazed nose with the crew closely grouped and inline engines in wing nacelles. The design allowed dive bombing and left ample room for development. It was powered by Junkers Jumo 211 engines.

The A-4 version was the main bomber variant, with an extended wing, strengthened structure and greater useful load. The Ju 88 was used not only as a bomber but also as a night fighter, reconnaissance aircraft, destroyer and torpedo bomber, giving rise to many specialised versions. It was built in large numbers throughout the war, many thousands of all variants.
