Eduard EX314 is a set of self-adhesive 1:48 masks for painting the canopy framing and other glazing, and the wheel hubs, tailored to the MC.200 model from Italeri / Tamiya. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp edges without hand masking with tape. The base kit is not included.

Self-adhesive painting masks – crisp canopy frame edges

Eduard masks are self-adhesive stencils die-cut from low-tack yellow Kabuki masking paper suited to delicate model surfaces. They cover the clear areas of the glazing and leave only the canopy framing exposed, so that after airbrushing you get sharp, even frame edges – hard to achieve when masking by hand with tape.

The recommended method is to apply the masks to clean, degreased glazing, press the edges down firmly and then airbrush the paint. Once the paint has dried, the masks are removed. The masks are intended for single use and should not be left on the model for a long time.

About the aircraft – Macchi MC.200 Saetta:

The Macchi MC.200 Saetta was an Italian single-seat fighter, first flown in 1937 and designed by Mario Castoldi. It was an all-metal low-wing aircraft with retractable landing gear, powered by a Fiat A.74 radial engine. It offered good maneuverability and a sturdy structure, but had relatively light armament and moderate speed due to the limited power of available Italian radial engines.

The Saetta entered Regia Aeronautica service in 1939 and was one of Italy's principal early-war fighters. It served over the Mediterranean, in North Africa and on the Eastern Front. Over time it was superseded by newer designs with inline engines. More than 1,100 examples were built, including open-cockpit variants and versions with an enclosed canopy.
