Eduard EX792 is a set of self-adhesive 1:48 masks for painting the canopy framing and other glazing, and the wheel hubs, tailored to the Lancaster B Mk.I model from HK Models. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp edges without hand masking with tape. The base kit is not included.

Self-adhesive painting masks – crisp canopy frame edges

Eduard masks are self-adhesive stencils die-cut from low-tack yellow Kabuki masking paper suited to delicate model surfaces. They cover the clear areas of the glazing and leave only the canopy framing exposed, so that after airbrushing you get sharp, even frame edges – hard to achieve when masking by hand with tape.

The recommended method is to apply the masks to clean, degreased glazing, press the edges down firmly and then airbrush the paint. Once the paint has dried, the masks are removed. The masks are intended for single use and should not be left on the model for a long time.

About the aircraft – Avro Lancaster B Mk.III (Dambuster):

The Avro Lancaster was a British heavy night bomber first flown in 1941, developed from the unsuccessful twin-engine Manchester. This four-engine low-wing aircraft with a large bomb bay was powered by Rolls-Royce Merlin inline engines. The B Mk.III differed from the Mk.I in using Merlins built under license in the USA by Packard. The aircraft could carry exceptionally heavy bomb loads for its era.

The Lancaster was one of the main bombers of Britain's strategic campaign against Germany. The Mk.III served as the basis for the special Type 464 Provisioning conversion for Operation Chastise in 1943, when No. 617 Squadron attacked the Ruhr dams with Barnes Wallis's bouncing bombs, giving rise to the Dambuster nickname. In total, more than 7,000 Lancasters of all versions were built.
