Eduard EX979 is a set of self-adhesive 1:48 masks for masking the wheel bays during painting, tailored to the F-4G Phantom model from Meng. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp edges without hand masking with tape. The base kit is not included.

Wheel bay masks – clean edges without taping off

This set contains masks shaped to the model wheel bays, letting you cover them while painting the fuselage and wings. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, keeping the wheel bay edges clean and sharp.

They are applied over the bays before spraying and removed once the paint has dried, helping keep the contrast between bay colour and the model camouflage.

About the aircraft – McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II (incl. F-4C):

The F-4 Phantom II is an American twin-engine, two-seat combat aircraft with high speed and payload, initially designed as a carrier interceptor that developed into a multirole machine. It is distinguished by its characteristic upturned wingtips and drooping horizontal tail. Its main armament initially consisted solely of missiles, without an internal cannon.

The Phantom served with the Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force of the United States and with many allies, acting as a fighter, strike and reconnaissance aircraft. The F-4C version was a land-based Air Force variant used intensively in Vietnam. The machine was produced in large numbers over many years. More than 5000 examples were built.
