Eduard JX278 mask set – canopy painting masks for the F-100C Super Sabre model (Trumpeter) in 1:32 scale

Eduard JX278 is a set of self-adhesive 1:32 masks for painting the canopy framing and other glazing, and the wheel hubs, tailored to the F-100C Super Sabre model from Trumpeter. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp edges without hand masking with tape. The base kit is not included. The TFace version includes masks for both the exterior and interior of the glazing.

Self-adhesive painting masks – crisp canopy frame edges

Eduard masks are self-adhesive stencils die-cut from low-tack yellow Kabuki masking paper suited to delicate model surfaces. They cover the clear areas of the glazing and leave only the canopy framing exposed, so that after airbrushing you get sharp, even frame edges – hard to achieve when masking by hand with tape.

The recommended method is to apply the masks to clean, degreased glazing, press the edges down firmly and then airbrush the paint. Once the paint has dried, the masks are removed. The masks are intended for single use and should not be left on the model for a long time.

About the aircraft – North American F-100 Super Sabre:

The North American F-100 Super Sabre was a single-seat jet fighter, the first American production aircraft capable of sustained supersonic speed in level flight. Developed in the early 1950s from the F-86 Sabre concept, it received a more sharply swept wing and a more powerful afterburning engine. A distinctive feature was the oval air intake in the fuselage nose. It entered service in 1954.

Early A-model examples showed stability problems, leading to changes to the tail and wing. The main production variant was the D model, adapted for ground-attack duties and fitted with underwing hardpoints. The aircraft was used extensively during the Vietnam War for close air support. Some airframes were rebuilt as two-seat F trainers and as reconnaissance variants.
