1:72 scale plastic model kit of the Grumman F7F-2 / F7F-2N Tigercat
The Fly Models 72065 kit represents the Grumman F7F-2 and F7F-2N Tigercat — a powerful twin-engine fighter designed for the US Navy and Marine Corps. The F7F-2N variant served as a night fighter equipped with radar and a two-seat cockpit, making it one of the most advanced piston-engine aircraft of its time.

About the Grumman F7F-2 / F7F-2N Tigercat:
The Grumman F7F Tigercat was the first twin-engine fighter designed for carrier use by the US Navy. The F7F-2 improved upon earlier versions with more powerful engines and refined aerodynamics. The F7F-2N, equipped with radar, operated as a night interceptor. Although introduced too late to see combat in WWII, Tigercats served with the US Navy and Marine Corps after the war and during the Korean conflict, admired for their speed, range, and heavy firepower.
