About the PACV vehicle:

The PACV (Patrol Air Cushion Vehicle) was a military hovercraft developed by Bell Aerospace in the 1960s, based on the civilian Bell SK-5. It was used by the US Navy in Vietnam to patrol shallow rivers and swampy terrain where conventional vehicles were ineffective. Armed with M60 machine guns and a Mk 19 grenade launcher, it could reach speeds up to 60 knots. Due to its complexity and maintenance challenges, only a few units were deployed.
