Description

ICM Acrylic Paint Set – US Aircraft of the Korean War (6 × 12 ml)

ICM 3101 is a themed set of six water-based acrylic paints matched to painting US aircraft of the Korean War period (1950–1953). The set contains the shades needed to reproduce natural metal finishes, dark green camouflage and the bright bands and recognition markings used on US Air Force and US Navy machines of the era.

The paints can be applied by brush and by airbrush after thinning with water or an acrylic thinner. The water-based formula is odourless and comfortable to use during longer painting sessions.

  • Black (no. 1002)
  • Deep Yellow (no. 1003)
  • Matt Red (no. 1047)
  • Aluminium (no. 1023)
  • US Dark Green (no. 1072)
  • Sky Grey (no. 1033)

ICM acrylic paints – characteristics

ICM acrylic paints are water-based products with good coverage. They are suitable for painting plastic and resin models and figures, blend well with each other and allow the shade to be matched to a specific painting scheme.

For airbrush spraying the paint is thinned with water or an acrylic thinner; for brush painting it can be applied directly from the bottle or after slight thinning. Tools are cleaned with water after use.

How to use:

Shake the bottle thoroughly before use. Apply the paint to a clean, degreased surface, preferably over a primer coat. For airbrushing, thin with water or an acrylic thinner. Metallic colours (Aluminium) look best over a smooth, gloss base. Apply successive coats once the previous ones have dried.

About the manufacturer – ICM:

ICM is a Ukrainian manufacturer of model kits and modelling accessories based in Kyiv, known for a wide range of aircraft, military vehicles, historic cars and figures. Since 2022 the company has also developed its own line of water-based acrylic paints, prepared as themed sets matched to specific models and eras, making it easier to choose a coherent palette for a given machine.
