ICM 35437 depicts the American HMMWV all-terrain vehicle in its armoured M1025A2 version, designed to carry weapons. It is one of the most recognisable vehicles of the US Army at the turn of the 21st century, used among others by military police units and mechanised formations. The model is made from a new mould.

The kit faithfully captures the vehicle's shape with its armoured cab and rigid roof-mounted weapon station, on which an M2 .50 cal heavy machine gun, an Mk19 automatic grenade launcher or a TOW anti-tank guided missile launcher can be mounted.

Building the model:

The model consists of more than two hundred parts and offers well-rendered detail of the body, chassis and weapon station. Assembly is accessible to modellers with some experience; it is worth planning the order of joining the cab and chassis according to the instructions so that harder-to-reach elements can be conveniently painted before they are enclosed.

For US schemes, the recommended colours are those used on Humvees of the 2000s – above all a uniform desert sand tone or the three-colour NATO camouflage (green, brown and black). Interior and weapon details are worth emphasising with a wash, with a matt varnish giving the flat finish typical of military vehicles.

The HMMWV (High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle), popularly called the Humvee, is an American all-terrain vehicle introduced in the 1980s as a successor to jeeps and light trucks. Thanks to four-wheel drive, high ground clearance and a modular design, it quickly became the US Army's basic tactical vehicle, produced in numerous variants.

The M1025 version is an armoured armament carrier with a dedicated roof-mounted weapon station. The M1025A2 variant received an upgraded drivetrain and reinforced components. Vehicles of this type performed reconnaissance, patrol and fire-support duties, carrying heavy machine guns, Mk19 grenade launchers or TOW launchers.
