About the Sikorsky CH-54A Tarhe:

The Sikorsky CH-54A Tarhe was developed in the early 1960s as a heavy transport helicopter capable of carrying oversized and extremely heavy cargo. The design originated from the S-64 project created by Sikorsky Aircraft, founded by the famous aircraft designer Igor Sikorsky. CH-54A helicopters were extensively used during the Vietnam War to transport artillery, ammunition, military vehicles, and to recover damaged aircraft from difficult terrain. Thanks to its powerful engines and the ability to lift cargo without landing, the helicopter demonstrated exceptional operational capabilities. After the Vietnam War, the CH-54 continued to serve successfully with U.S. Army and National Guard units for many years.
