About the Fiat G.50bis aircraft:

The Fiat G.50bis was an upgraded version of Italy’s first monoplane fighter with an enclosed cockpit and retractable landing gear. The “bis” version added wing fuel tanks for greater range and slightly improved performance. It served as a fighter-bomber in North Africa and the Mediterranean. The G.50bis/N was a navalized version capable of operating from aircraft carriers or coastal bases. Despite being outdated by mid-war, these aircraft remained in frontline service until Italy’s armistice in 1943.
