Special Hobby 72486 - 1:72 P-40M Warhawk Involuntarily from Russia to Finland

Unassembled plastic model kit of a American hunter aircraft P-40M Warhawk.

All three camouflage patterns of the aircraft in the set are for the same copy on which a Russian pilot landed on a frozen lake in Finland in December 1943 and was seized by the Finnish military. The two paint schemes while serving with the Finnish Air Force are dated 1944 and 1945.

The kit includes:

• frames with parts to be glued together
• decal sheet
• instructions for assembling the model, along with a presentation of possible paint versions

The kit does not include glue and paints.

The model includes instructions that pictorially show the sequence of cutting out parts and gluing them together. The instructions also include suggestions on how to choose paints for painting the model. In the final step, you will need to apply the decals included in the kit to the surface of the model according to the scheme shown.

To build the model you will need a basic set of tools:

• scalpel or modeling pliers
• files or various thicknesses of sandpaper
• brushes of various sizes
• modeling glue for plastic
• a set of paints according to the instructions or individually selected by an employee of our model store
• if your model contains metal or resin parts, you will need cyanoacrylate glue for them

Special Hobby is a well-known Czech manufacturer of short-run scale models.

In their offer there are interesting models, but with themes that are definitely more niche. Due to the technology used in the production of the models, the kits are characterized by a slightly inferior fit of parts and quite extensive use of resin and photo-etched parts. They usually do not overwhelm with the number of parts. They are aimed at advanced modelers with some skill in machining add-ons from materials other than plastic.
