About the M51 Degem Alef:

The M51, also known as the Super Sherman or Isherman, was an Israeli upgrade of the M4A1 Sherman carried out in the 1960s. The Degem Alef variant was the first production batch, equipped with a 105 mm CN-105-57 gun, HVSS suspension and a Cummins diesel engine. These tanks were used successfully during the Six-Day War in 1967 and the Yom Kippur War in 1973, proving that even older platforms could be highly effective when modernized. The M51 remained in IDF service into the late 1970s and became a symbol of Israeli engineering ingenuity.
