About HMS Royal Oak:

HMS Royal Oak (08) was a Revenge-class battleship built at Devonport Dockyard and commissioned in 1916. Armed with eight 15-inch (381 mm) guns, she served with the Royal Navy during the interwar period and early months of World War II. On the night of October 13–14, 1939, she was sunk at anchor in Scapa Flow by the German submarine U-47, commanded by Günther Prien. The loss of Royal Oak, with 833 crewmen killed, was a major shock to Britain and led to immediate improvements in harbor defenses across the Royal Navy.
