Description

Vallejo Model Air Yellow RLM04 acrylic paint – 18 ml

Vallejo 71078 Model Air Yellow RLM04 is a vivid, saturated acrylic yellow with a matt finish, corresponding to the FS 33655, RLM 04, ANA 614 and BS 356 colour standards. The paint is ready for airbrush application.

The shade is associated above all with the German RLM 04, used on fuselage recognition bands, theatre-of-operations markings and the undersides of wingtips on Luftwaffe aircraft. Its bright, clean character also makes it well suited to all kinds of vivid markings and accents. Because of the yellow pigment, the best coverage is achieved over a light base, in several thin layers.

Vallejo Model Air paints – characteristics and uses

Vallejo Model Air is a range of water-based matt acrylic paints developed specifically for airbrush application. The line covers a broad selection of military colours from different periods — from the First World War, through the Second World War, up to the present day. The formulas are based on research into historical colour references, which translates into a high level of accuracy in the shades.

The paints have a ready-to-spray consistency, and their finely ground pigment passes freely through small-diameter airbrush nozzles without clogging them. They are supplied in dropper bottles, which makes measuring and mixing colours easier. The paints have a matt finish.

The paints dry very quickly and form a uniform, durable film that preserves even the finest detail of the model. They are non-flammable and contain no solvents, making them odourless and comfortable to work with.

How to use:

Model Air can be applied directly or thinned with Vallejo Airbrush Thinner. In addition, it is worth adding a small amount of Vallejo Flow Improver to the paint, which reduces the tendency of acrylic paint to dry on the airbrush needle. It is recommended to prime the surface first and then apply the paint in several thin layers. For airbrushing, the recommended air pressure is 15–20 PSI (approximately 1–1.4 bar). The paint can also be applied with a brush. After finishing, Vallejo Airbrush Cleaner is recommended for cleaning the airbrush.
