Zebrano ZA35294 is a set of two Soviet KPVT 14.5 mm heavy machine guns in the tank version, in 1:35 scale. The precise resin castings allow models of armoured carriers and combat vehicles, and dioramas, to be enriched with a realistically reproduced weapon.

The set is a supplement to models and scenes — it does not include a base model.

Note: This kit does not include glue, paint or modelling tools. The model is intended for self-assembly.

Preparation and use:

The guns are cut from the casting blocks with a razor saw or nippers, the edges cleaned and the parts washed before painting. The delicate parts require careful clean-up.

The weapons are best painted separately in dark steel or graphite, with details emphasised by a wash. The set works well for detailing models of carriers and combat vehicles armed with the KPVT.

About the weapon – KPVT 14.5 mm:

The KPVT is the tank version of the Soviet KPV heavy machine gun designed by Vladimirov, chambered for the 14.5x114 mm cartridge. The weapon entered service in the late 1940s and was mounted in the turrets of numerous Soviet vehicles.

The KPVT was fitted among others in BTR-family armoured personnel carriers and BRDM-2 scout cars, where it was used against lightly armoured targets and personnel and — on pintle and pedestal mounts — also against low-flying aircraft.
