About the IS-2 UZTM Mod. 1945

The IS-2 was the Red Army’s principal heavy tank during the final phase of World War II. The 1945 UZTM modification introduced a simplified straight-nose glacis plate and improved turret casting. Armed with the powerful 122-mm D-25T gun, the IS-2 excelled at breaking fortified positions and engaging heavy German armour. These late-production tanks saw action during the Berlin offensive and other final operations of the Eastern Front.
