Specially selected color shades will make it easier for you to realistically paint your figure or model. You can use the paints that are included in this set to paint tanks and self-propelled guns of the Japanese army used during World War II and the preceding conflicts in the late 1930s. Sample paint schemes are shown on the back of the box. By 1942, multicolor camouflage patterns consisting of IJA Khaki (base color) or IJA Tea Brown (also used as a base color, according to some sources), IJA Earth Brown and IJA Green or IJA Dry Grass were in use. In the 1930s, camouflage patches were additionally framed by black lines. In the early days of World War II, camouflage patterns were sometimes supplemented with wavy cross-shaped seatbelts centered on the top of the vehicle, overlaid with IJA Dry Grass or bright yellow. From 1942 until the end of the war, camouflage schemes typically consisted of IJA Dry Grass (the base color), IJA Earth Brown and IJA Grass Green. The paints are historically accurate and made from the highest quality ingredients. They are also designed with the effect of reduced scale in mind. A model airplane reflects less light than a full-size airplane, which means that the color used on the model must be brighter to look the same as the full-size version. If the same shades of color were used on each, the model would appear darker because it reflects less light.

Additives prevent the paint from delaminating in the bottles and eliminate brush marks. When diluted, they are suitable for airbrush painting, and their special formula and very fine pigment reduces nozzle clogging and reduces paint drying on the needle. The paints are non-toxic and odorless.

The paints are ideal for brush painting. They are also suitable for airbrush painting especially if you do not want to use paints with a strong smell. The paints are dedicated to plastic models and figures, but they can also be used to paint cardboard, wooden and resin models. Nothing prevents you from also using them for hobby work not related to modeling.

For airbrush painting, the paints should be diluted! We recommend the original AK Interactive thinner: 11500.

The palette includes standard colors (orange logo on the bottle), strong vivid colors (yellow logo), delicate pastel colors (light blue logo), metallic colors (dark blue logo), inks (brown logo) and complementary products (gray logo). The palette has also been enhanced with a series of dedicated colors for aircraft models, figures and military vehicles.
