Turned metal barrels – a quick upgrade for your model

Replacing plastic barrels with turned metal parts is one of the simplest ways to raise the realism of a warship model. Metal barrels have a perfectly round cross-section and crisp, thin muzzles that are hard to reproduce in injection-moulded plastic.

For assembly we suggest cyanoacrylate glue, which bonds metal to plastic well. It is worth cleaning and degreasing the parts before fitting.

About the gun – 105 mm SFLAK C/37:

The 105 mm dual-purpose gun was the primary medium anti-aircraft armament of German warships during the Second World War. In the stabilised C/37 mount it engaged aerial targets at medium and high altitudes. It was fitted, among others, on Kriegsmarine cruisers and battleships.

Technical data of the original:

  • Calibre: 105 mm
  • Mount: C/37 (SFLAK)
  • Role: medium-calibre anti-aircraft gun
  • User: German Kriegsmarine
