Copper State Models is a 3D-printed self-assembly model of the early French Model P Type C motorcycle of 1903 (approx. 2 hp) in 1:32 scale. The machine represents the pioneering era of two-wheeled motoring, when a motorcycle was essentially a reinforced bicycle with a small engine.

The small 3D-printed parts reproduce the delicate, open construction of the early motorcycle with great accuracy.

Building the model:

The model requires careful separation of the small parts from the print plates and cleaning of any print-support marks. The resin parts are joined with cyanoacrylate glue. Because of the delicacy of the parts we recommend it to intermediate modellers.

For painting this early motorcycle, colours typical of early-twentieth-century machines are recommended - a black or dark frame with brass and nickel accents on the drive and fittings, and brown on the leather saddle. Picking out the detail with a wash will emphasise the fine elements of the construction.
