SPACE 3D decals – three-dimensional interior detail without painting

SPACE are self-adhesive 3D decals printed on a clear carrier that create raised, multi-coloured detail. They reproduce instrument panels, side consoles and seatbelts – all as 3D decals, without separate photo-etched parts.

The decals are applied like ordinary waterslide decals onto a prepared, smooth surface. It is a convenient way to achieve a rich, colourful interior without painting fine details.

About the aircraft – Sikorsky CH-54A Tarhe:

The Sikorsky CH-54 Tarhe is an American heavy-lift helicopter with a distinctive open, skeletal fuselage that works like a flying crane. Instead of a conventional cargo hold, it carries loads slung directly beneath the fuselage or in dedicated universal cargo pods.

The CH-54A entered US Army service in the 1960s and saw extensive use during the Vietnam War, recovering downed aircraft and transporting artillery, vehicles, containers and loads too heavy for smaller helicopters.

Original specifications (Sikorsky CH-54A):

  • Length (rotors turning): approx. 26.97 m
  • Main rotor diameter: approx. 21.95 m (6 blades)
  • Empty weight: approx. 8,720 kg
  • Max take-off weight: approx. 19,050 kg
  • Powerplant: 2 x Pratt & Whitney T73 turboshaft, approx. 4,500 hp each
  • Maximum payload: approx. 9,070 kg
  • Maximum speed: approx. 200 km/h
  • Crew: 3 (including aft-facing crane operator)
  • First flight: 1962
