Resin parts are additives that enrich the model to be glued together - they can be cast or 3D printed.

They make it possible to render much more and much finer details than possible with injection molding technology. Thanks to the ease of production, resin parts are also often found to correct improperly designed details in a plastic model. Resin parts are also used to add detail to the model, which can result in the need to cut and rework some plastic parts. For short run production models, they can be a necessary part of the kit.

Photoetched elements made of brass sheet are one of the most popular additions to unassembled plastic model kits.

Their production technology makes it possible to obtain very small and delicate details, unattainable with injection molding technology. Most often, they are a much better-looking alternative to instrument panels, catches, hangers, mounts, air intake cover grids, etc. For models produced with short run technology, they can be an essential part of the kit. Photo-etched parts most often require bending them according to etched lines to achieve the desired shape.

Paint masks, an accessory that makes the work of airbrush-painting modelers easier.

They protect transparent elements in the model (such as the cabin, headlights, etc.) from paint, and often also the wheel caps. The masks are pre-cut to the shape of parts from a specific model - the information on which kit they fit is on the package. It is worth noting whether the selected masks cover all the glazing, or whether the center of the glazing will need to be additionally protected with a maskol-type liquid. Masks for painting can be cut on self-adhesive film or on material resembling self-adhesive paper masking tape. Depending on the manufacturer and the kit, the sheet may also contain elements for masking the inside of the glazing.
