Eduard CX493 is a set of self-adhesive 1:72 masks for masking the fuselage windows and glazing during painting, tailored to the H8K2 Emily model from Hasegawa. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp edges without hand masking with tape. The base kit is not included.

Fuselage window masks – clean glazing without taping off

This set contains self-adhesive masks shaped to the many fuselage windows and glazed panels of the model, letting you cover them while painting. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp window-frame edges and keeping the glazing clean.

They are applied over the glazing before spraying and removed once the paint has dried.

About the aircraft – Kawanishi H8K (Emily):

The Kawanishi H8K, Allied reporting name Emily, was a Japanese four-engine maritime patrol and bomber flying boat of the Second World War, operated by the Imperial Japanese Navy. It was a large high-wing design powered by four Mitsubishi Kasei radial engines, with long range and endurance. The design featured substantial armour protection and self-sealing fuel tanks.

The H8K was used for long-range maritime reconnaissance, patrol, anti-shipping strikes and transport. It was heavily armed with cannon and machine guns, allowing it to defend itself effectively against fighters. A transport version, the H8K2-L Seiku, with increased fuselage capacity was also built. The crew usually numbered about ten. A total of 167 were built.
