Set of decals, operating stencils for 1/48 scale model of P-51B aircraft.

Decal sheets contain the nationality markings of the model being built, as well as often operating stencils and other details such as instrument panel clocks, etc.

The sheet may contain one or multiple marking options depending on the kit. These days, virtually every plastic model kits include a decal sheet. There are also decals sold separately - for modelers who don't want to do the machine suggested by the manufacturer or are looking for a less popular paint job. The most popular type are water decals, where in order to apply the markings to the surface of the model, they must be momentarily immersed in water after being cut from the sheet.
