Eduard EX025 is a set of self-adhesive 1:48 masks for painting the canopy framing and other glazing, and the wheel hubs, tailored to the A-7D/E Corsair II model from Hasegawa. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp edges without hand masking with tape. The base kit is not included.

Self-adhesive painting masks – crisp canopy frame edges

Eduard masks are self-adhesive stencils die-cut from low-tack yellow Kabuki masking paper suited to delicate model surfaces. They cover the clear areas of the glazing and leave only the canopy framing exposed, so that after airbrushing you get sharp, even frame edges – hard to achieve when masking by hand with tape.

The recommended method is to apply the masks to clean, degreased glazing, press the edges down firmly and then airbrush the paint. Once the paint has dried, the masks are removed. The masks are intended for single use and should not be left on the model for a long time.

About the aircraft – Vought A-7 Corsair II (A-7D / A-7E):

The Vought A-7 Corsair II is an American carrier-based subsonic jet attack aircraft, developed in the 1960s as a successor to the light A-4 Skyhawk. Its design derives from the F-8 Crusader fighter, but with a shorter and broader fuselage and a longer-span wing without variable incidence. The air intake is located in the fuselage nose. The aircraft was designed to carry a large weapons load at low operating cost.

The A-7 entered service with the United States Navy in 1967 and was used intensively in combat in Vietnam for attacks on ground targets, valued for its accuracy and large weapons load. Carrier-based versions for the Navy and land-based versions for the Air Force were produced. The Air Force A-7D received the Allison TF41 engine and the M61 Vulcan 20 mm cannon, while the analogously powered carrier-based A-7E with the same cannon served with the Navy. About 1545 examples were built in total.
