Eduard EX328 is a set of self-adhesive 1:48 masks for painting the canopy framing and other glazing, and the wheel hubs, tailored to the Fw 190D model from Eduard. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp edges without hand masking with tape. The base kit is not included. The mask is tailored to the Eduard Weekend Edition kit.

Self-adhesive painting masks – crisp canopy frame edges

Eduard masks are self-adhesive stencils die-cut from low-tack yellow Kabuki masking paper suited to delicate model surfaces. They cover the clear areas of the glazing and leave only the canopy framing exposed, so that after airbrushing you get sharp, even frame edges – hard to achieve when masking by hand with tape.

The recommended method is to apply the masks to clean, degreased glazing, press the edges down firmly and then airbrush the paint. Once the paint has dried, the masks are removed. The masks are intended for single use and should not be left on the model for a long time.

About the aircraft – Focke-Wulf Fw 190D:

The Focke-Wulf Fw 190D, commonly called the Dora, was a high-altitude version of the Fw 190 fighter. In place of the BMW 801 radial it used a liquid-cooled Junkers Jumo 213 inline engine with a distinctive annular radiator at the front, which made the nose look radial-engined. The fuselage was lengthened with a plug ahead of the tail fin to keep the balance.

The Fw 190D-9 entered service in the autumn of 1944 and offered better performance at higher altitudes than earlier A versions. It was used against bombers, in fighter combat and to cover Me 262 jets during take-off and landing. The Dora bridged the classic Fw 190 and the further-developed Ta 152. About 700 examples were built.
