Eduard JX253 mask set – canopy painting masks for the Bf 108 model (Eduard) in 1:32 scale

Eduard JX253 is a set of self-adhesive 1:32 masks for painting the canopy framing and other glazing, and the wheel hubs, tailored to the Bf 108 model from Eduard. The masks are die-cut from yellow Kabuki masking paper, giving sharp edges without hand masking with tape. The base kit is not included. The TFace version includes masks for both the exterior and interior of the glazing.

Self-adhesive painting masks – crisp canopy frame edges

Eduard masks are self-adhesive stencils die-cut from low-tack yellow Kabuki masking paper suited to delicate model surfaces. They cover the clear areas of the glazing and leave only the canopy framing exposed, so that after airbrushing you get sharp, even frame edges – hard to achieve when masking by hand with tape.

The recommended method is to apply the masks to clean, degreased glazing, press the edges down firmly and then airbrush the paint. Once the paint has dried, the masks are removed. The masks are intended for single use and should not be left on the model for a long time.

About the aircraft – Messerschmitt Bf 108 Taifun:

The Messerschmitt Bf 108 Taifun is a German single-engine touring and liaison aircraft designed in the mid-1930s by Willy Messerschmitt's team. It was a four-seat, all-metal low-wing aircraft with retractable landing gear and automatic leading-edge slots. These features, advanced for a civil aircraft, foreshadowed the design of the later Bf 109 fighter.

The Bf 108 was used for touring, sporting and liaison flights, and during the war also for auxiliary duties in the German air force. It was powered by an Argus As 10 inline engine. The aircraft was praised for good performance and handling for its class. Production continued after the war in France as the Nord 1000; about 900 aircraft were built in total.
