Assembly

About the battleship Hiei

Hiei was one of four Kongō-class fast battleships and served as a key unit of the Imperial Japanese Navy. Originally built in the United Kingdom and later reconstructed in Japan, she played an active role during the Pacific War, including operations near Guadalcanal. Heavily damaged during the Naval Battle of Guadalcanal in 1942, Hiei eventually sank following repeated air attacks. Today the ship remains a symbol of Japan’s naval power and the fierce engagements fought in the Solomon Islands.
