Hataka orange line paints are a high quality, organic solvent based lacquer paints.
This line offers a wide variety of colours especially chosen for modellers. Chosen to be faithful in shade to originals and formulated so they have exceptional adherence to plastic and resistance of paint layer. Compared to other solvent based paints, they have less intensive smell.
Those paints are dedicated for painting using an airbrush and will not be suitable for painting by brush!
Orange line paints have to be thinned before use - producer recommends a 2:3 paint to thinner ratio up to 3:2 ratio - depending on the effect we want to achieve. Paint opacity makes it easy to apply thin, transparent layers and slowly building the final colour to our liking.
For thinning use a dedicated thinner XP03.
Extremely fine pigment eliminates nozzle clogging and reduces needle drying. Every bottle includes a stainless steel stirring ball which makes it easy to properly mix the paint even after a long time.
Orange line paints are mainly used for painting plastic model kits and figures but can also be used for painting paper models, wood or resin. They can also be used for other hobby and DIY works.
Clear varnishes are an essential product in every modeller's workshop.
Their basic function is protecting a given layer of paint and effects created on a model. Additionally laying down a single layer of a varnish will unify the look of a surface with various luster levels. There are three types of varnishes. Gloss - used mainly as an intermediate layer preparing model for application of decals, washes etc. Also used as a finish layer on civilian cars, rally cars etc. Satin (or semi matt) is used as a finish layer when we want to achieve a "wet paint" or metal surface look. Matt/gloss ratio in these varnishes vary greatly between brands. Matt varnishes are used almost exclusively as a finish layer for almost any type of model kit and figure. In this case - flatness of the varnish also varies between brands. Among them there are special "ultra matt" varnishes which strongly subdues the overall colours on the model kit but in return - remove any trace of shine from e.g. metallic paints. It's worth remembering that gloss varnishes add depth to the colours they're applied on while matt varnishes "fade" and make the colours duller. For best and consistent results it is important to always shake clear varnish very well.
Hataka is a Polish manufacturer of high quality modelling paints and a wide range of colours.
Their offer consists of three lines of paints:
- Blue Line are water soluble acrylic paints that are optimized for painting using a paintbrush. They are sold in 10 and 17ml bottles.
- Red Line are also water soluble acrylic paints but optimized for spraying using an airbrush. For best results we recommend thinning them with a dedicated thinner rather than water. They are packed in 17 ml bottles.
- Final type are the Orange Line paints - lacquer type, based on organic solvents therefore water cannot thin them. They can be thinned with a dedicated Hataka thinner or other lacquer thinner (e.g. Mr Hobby Levelling Thinner). Those paints can be easily used in an airbrush and cannot be painted with a brush. They come in 17 ml bottles.
Hataka has a very wide range of colours that consider the modellers’ needs, which makes it easy to choose proper colour for a particular AFV or an aircraft from virtually any time period. Their offer is complemented by a wide selection of paint sets that are focused on particular subjects like e.g. German tanks of early WWII or Swedish Air Force. Those paint sets are also divided by paint types (blue, red and orange).
