About the Henschel Hs 123A-1:

The Henschel Hs 123A-1 was a single-seat biplane designed as a dive bomber and ground-attack aircraft. First flown in 1935, it entered serial production in 1936 and was powered by a BMW 132 radial engine delivering 880 hp. Armed with two synchronized machine guns and capable of carrying both 50-kg and 250-kg bombs, the Hs 123 was used in early WWII campaigns such as Poland, France, and the Balkans. It proved remarkably resilient to anti-aircraft fire, often surviving direct hits. Despite its outdated design, it remained in active Luftwaffe service until 1944, especially on the Eastern Front.
