The Ford G917T was a 3-ton truck widely used by the Wehrmacht during WWII, with over 25,000 units built in Cologne between 1939 and 1941. Several of these vehicles were later adapted into mobile anti-aircraft platforms by mounting 2 cm Flak 38 guns on their flatbeds.

The Flak 38, introduced in 1940, was a reliable and rapid-firing gun (up to 480 rpm), capable of engaging low-flying aircraft and light ground targets. For operation, the cargo bed’s side panels were folded down or removed entirely to provide space and visibility for the crew.
