Description

White, liquid putty Mr. Dissolved Putty -.

  • package - glass jar with a plastic lid
  • capacity - 40 ml
  • producer's code - P119

Liquid putty made by Mr.Hobby is a useful gap filler for plastic model kits. It has a consistency of a thick liquid that is easy to pick up using a toothpick, spatula or brush and the apply onto a desired surface. Longer drying time allows this putty to better fill the gap. It shrinks heavily while curing, so it might be neccessary to apply several layers to achieve level surface. Putty surface might crack while drying if we apply too thick layer. After drying putty becomes very hard, but can be sanded, drilled etc. Alternative for sanding is wiping the excess putty using a cotton bud moistened with Mr.Color Thinner, Leveling Thinner or Rapid Thinner. The same products can also be used to thin the putty as needed.

ATTENTION -Mr.Dissolved Putty cannot be used in an airbrush!

Putty is one of the basic materials in modeller's workshop used to fill gaps and imperfections in a model kit.

They usually have consistency of a paste, but also available are putties which are a thick fluid. Main purpose of a putty is to fill a gap, so that the model's surface becomes smooth and even. To achieve this you have to sand the putty after it dries using a file or sandpaper of proper grit.

Modelling putties can be either solvent based or acrylic based. Solvent putties can be thinned down - if required - using appropriate products like Lacquer Thinner or Leveling Thinner. They shrink while drying so remember to use a little more putty than needed to compensate for this. If the result is not satisfying - repeat the process adding another layer of putty. Acrylic based putties are usually water soluble and dry faster than solvent ones. Ant excess can be removed using a cotton bud moistened with water before the putty dries.
