Analog or digital control – what to choose?

This analog model is ready for use on traditional model train layouts. Thanks to the integrated decoder socket, it can be easily converted to digital, enabling independent control of multiple locomotives and access to advanced lighting and sound functions.

About the ST44 locomotive:

The ST44, nicknamed “Gagarin,” is a heavy diesel locomotive produced in the USSR at the Lugansk Locomotive Works. These locomotives were delivered to Poland starting in the 1960s and served for decades, primarily in freight transport on non-electrified routes of the PKP network.

With their powerful build, distinctive engine sound, and impressive performance, the ST44s became some of the most recognizable diesel locomotives in Poland. During Era V, many units were modernized and received the updated PKP Cargo livery.

This PIKO model captures the proportions, shape, and livery of the real locomotive with impressive accuracy, making it an excellent addition to any layout representing Polish railway operations.
