About the Type Molch midget submarine:

The Type Molch was Germany’s first operational midget submarine, introduced in 1944. A total of about 393 units were built. It was a simple, one-man craft powered by an electric motor, designed for short-range attacks near coastal areas. Armed with two externally mounted 533 mm torpedoes, it was deployed in the North Sea and the Mediterranean. However, limited speed, endurance, and lack of a proper periscope made it of little combat effectiveness.
