NS series 1000 electric locomotive model with sound in H0 scale

This model represents an electric locomotive of the Dutch State Railways (NS) series 1000 in Era III livery. The prototype was based on the Swiss SBB Ae 4/6 design but adapted for operation on the Dutch DC electrification system. The PIKO model faithfully reproduces this unique locomotive and comes equipped with a DCC decoder and realistic sound functions.

About the NS series 1000 locomotives:

The electric locomotives of NS series 1000 were developed based on the Swiss SBB Ae 4/6 design, but adapted for use on the Dutch DC network. Originally intended for express passenger services between major Dutch cities, they were mainly used for freight operations. These locomotives were in service from 1948 to 1982. Of the ten units built, only locomotive no. 1010 has been preserved and is now displayed at the Railway Museum in Utrecht.
