H0 scale model of the PKP SM31 diesel locomotive with sound – Era IV

PIKO 52313 is a highly detailed H0 scale model of the SM31 diesel locomotive operated by Polish State Railways during Era IV. The model is factory-fitted with a digital sound decoder, offering realistic engine and operational sound effects.

History of the SM31 locomotive

The SM31 class was designed as a heavy diesel locomotive for demanding shunting tasks and industrial service. Its high tractive effort made it suitable for ports, marshalling yards and industrial sidings.

During Era IV, SM31 locomotives played an important role in modernising shunting operations within PKP, gradually replacing steam locomotives in heavy yard service.
