About the SA-227 Metro aircraft:

The Fairchild Swearingen Metro is an American light transport aircraft developed during the 1960s from earlier Swearingen designs. The SA-227 version introduced more powerful engines and structural improvements compared to earlier models.

The Metro III became one of the most widely used versions of the aircraft and served with regional airlines around the world. It could carry up to around 19 passengers and offered good speed and operating economy for short-distance routes.

In addition to civilian airline service, Metro aircraft were also used by military forces and government agencies for transport, patrol, and training missions.

Original aircraft specifications:

  • Length: approx. 18.08 m
  • Wingspan: approx. 17.37 m
  • Powerplant: 2 × Garrett TPE331 turboprop engines
  • Maximum speed: approx. 500 km/h
  • Capacity: up to approx. 19 passengers

About the manufacturer:

Sova-M is a model kit manufacturer known for producing plastic kits of less common aircraft subjects. The company often focuses on civil, transport, and experimental aircraft rarely represented by other model manufacturers.
