This 1:72 scale model kit from Special Hobby depicts the German Heinkel He 59B floatplane – a multi-purpose biplane used by the Luftwaffe in the 1930s and early WWII. The He 59 served in reconnaissance, sea-rescue (SAR), transport, and patrol roles. About the Heinkel He 59:
The Heinkel He 59 was a German twin-engine biplane floatplane developed in the early 1930s. The B-variant served the Luftwaffe in various roles, including maritime reconnaissance, medical evacuation, and rescue operations. Some He 59Bs were marked with Red Cross insignia, though these markings didn’t always guarantee safety from enemy fire. Despite its solid construction, the aircraft was soon rendered obsolete by more modern designs.
