This 1:72 scale model from Special Hobby represents the Fokker D.21 fighter aircraft used by the Royal Netherlands Air Force during the German invasion in May 1940. Despite being outclassed by modern Luftwaffe fighters such as the Bf 109 and Bf 110, the D.21 bravely resisted the attack on Dutch skies.

About the Fokker D.21:

The Fokker D.21 was a Dutch-designed fighter aircraft developed in the late 1930s. Though quickly outpaced by more modern fighters, it was valued for its sturdiness and agility. During the German invasion in 1940, it was the main Dutch interceptor and managed to shoot down numerous enemy aircraft before being overwhelmed. The D.21 remains a symbol of Dutch resistance in the early days of WWII.
