Building the model:

Figures in 1:72 are small, so careful removal from the sprues and gentle clean-up of the gate marks matter a great deal - at this size even a slight blemish shows. Precision tweezers and a knife with a fresh, sharp blade are useful here.

For painting, working from the general to the specific tends to work best: primer, then the base clothing colour applied by airbrush or brush, and finally the details - faces, hands, footwear and weapons. A wash applied over the whole figure and wiped back off the raised areas quickly brings out folds and equipment, which at this scale gives a clear result for little effort. It helps to paint the figures in batches of several at a time, temporarily attached to a strip of wood or to miniature holders.
