Description

Plastic model kit of the German Kübelwagen Type 82 field car in 1:35 scale

Tamiya 35213 depicts the Kübelwagen Type 82 – a light field car based on the Volkswagen design. It was one of the most widely used German military vehicles of the Second World War, valued for its simplicity, reliability and good off-road ability. The model allows the doors to be shown open, and the two-part wheels make painting easier. A driver figure is included.

What's in the box:

  • Plastic sprues with body, chassis and interior parts
  • Opening doors and two-part wheels
  • Driver figure
  • Decal sheet and illustrated assembly instructions

Model specifications:

  • Scale: 1:35
  • Item number: 35213
  • Manufacturer: Tamiya
  • Assembled length: approx. 107 mm
  • Skill level: beginner

Note: glue, paints and modelling tools are not included. The model is intended for self-assembly.

Building the model:

As a Tamiya-tooled kit it features good parts fit and approachable assembly. Paint the interior before closing the body, and the two-part wheels make it easy to paint the tyres and rims separately. Emphasise the final result with a wash and subtle weathering.

Tools you'll need:

  • Modelling nippers for removing parts from the sprues
  • Hobby knife or scalpel
  • Files and sandpaper for cleaning up sprue-gate marks
  • Plastic cement (e.g. Tamiya Extra Thin Cement)
  • Brushes of various sizes and modelling paints (acrylic or enamel)
  • Panel-line wash to emphasise detail, plus dry-brushing
  • Pigments and paints for weathering effects (mud, dust, rust)

About the vehicle – Kübelwagen Type 82:

  • Width: approx. 1.60 m
  • Height: approx. 1.65 m
  • Powerplant: air-cooled petrol engine, approx. 25 hp
  • Max speed: approx. 80 km/h
