The X-Scale 144011 kit represents the Airbus A300B4-605R, also known as the A300-600R – an advanced version of one of the first European wide-body passenger aircraft. The aircraft was developed by the Airbus consortium to meet the growing demand for efficient jet airliners capable of operating medium- and long-range routes.

The A300 became the world’s first twin-engine wide-body jet airliner. The A300-600R variant introduced improved avionics, refined aerodynamics, and an additional fuel tank that significantly increased the aircraft’s range. These improvements made the aircraft attractive to airlines operating both passenger and cargo services.

Model assembly

About the Airbus A300

The Airbus A300 was the first aircraft developed by the European Airbus Industrie consortium. The project was launched in the late 1960s as a response to the dominance of American commercial aircraft manufacturers. The prototype made its first flight in 1972.

The A300 was also the first wide-body passenger aircraft in the world to use only two jet engines, which allowed airlines to reduce operating costs while maintaining high passenger capacity. The aircraft proved to be a successful design and became the foundation for the development of later Airbus models.

The A300-600R variant was among the most advanced versions of the aircraft. With additional fuel capacity and improved avionics, it offered extended range and improved operational efficiency. Many airlines operated the A300-600R worldwide in both passenger and cargo roles.
