HSM line are metallic paints for airbrushing.
Specially prepared metallic particles give a perfect, shiny finishon plastic models. Surface looks like it's made of real metal. Mr.Hobby allows paintbrushing these paints, but the final effect will be much worse than airbrushing them on a kit. Other properties of the HSM paints are the same as in Mr.Hobby H line paints and can be thinned and used accordingly.
.Mr.Hobby series H paints are the highest quality waterbased acrylics. They have perfect colour rendition, large colour palette and give a very resistant paint surface.
Recommended for airbrushing, they can be paintbrushed with a good result. Waterbased Mr.Hobby acrylics, unlike vinyl paints does not clog airbrushes and are easy to clean from the tools. Paints have a mild alcohol smell from the thinner used for their production.
Full colour palette offers over 170 aircraft, AFV, ship and car colours. They were developed to faithfully reproduce the tone and finish - matt, semi-matt or gloss - of the originals
Remember to stir the paint very well before use and thin it properly. You can use Mr.Aqueous Hobby Color Thinner (available in 110 and 400 ml bottles), which has the same mild alcohol smejj like the paints. You can also use any of the C series thinners i.e. Mr.Color Thinner or a retarder variant Mr.Color Leveling Thinner, but keep in mind that this will produce the same strong, chemical smell as the C paints.Using Levelling Thinner (with added retarder) or adding retarding agent to the paint mix makes painting easier and improves the final look of the painted surface. We recommend thinning in at least 1 part paint to 2-3 parts of thinner ratio.
Mr.Color series H paints are very stable and in tightly closed jars can be stored for a very long time.
Paints are quick drying, but depending on the amount and type of used thinner, they may require up to 24 hours to fully cure on a model kit.
Paints are recommended for plastic model kits and figures but can also be used on metal or resin kits. They can be sprayed straight onto the material, but we always suggest priming the surface with a proper primer.
