Aber 1:700L-16 is a set of 16 precisely turned metal barrels of 105 mm calibre in 1:700 scale, a detailing accessory for ship models. The turned barrels replace the factory plastic parts, improving the fidelity of the artillery.

The base model (ship) is not part of the set – it must be purchased separately.

Turned metal barrels – a quick model upgrade

Replacing plastic barrels with turned metal ones is one of the simplest ways to raise the quality of a ship model. Metal barrels have a perfectly round cross-section and crisp muzzle edges that are hard to achieve in plastic parts.

For assembly it is worth considering cyanoacrylate glue, which bonds metal to plastic well. Delicate parts are best fitted after a dry test fit.

About the gun – 105 mm on C/33 mounts:

The 105 mm anti-aircraft gun was the standard heavy anti-aircraft armament of large German Kriegsmarine ships. The variant on C/33 type mounts was one of the earlier mounting versions of this gun.

C/33 mounts differ in design from the later C/37 mounts (for which a separate barrel set is intended), so when choosing a set you should check the version of the modelled ship.
