Description

Set of turned 380 mm, 150 mm and 105 mm barrels for Bismarck class battleships in 1:700 scale

The set contains a complete set of turned metal barrels for the German battleships of the Bismarck class (Bismarck and Tirpitz). It includes the 380 mm main armament, the 150 mm secondary artillery and the 105 mm dual-purpose guns. The turned barrels replace the plastic parts from the model and improve the fidelity of the armament.

The ship model is not included in the set – it is a separate purchase.

The set includes:

  • 8 turned metal barrels 380 mm (main guns)
  • 12 turned metal barrels 150 mm (secondary artillery)
  • 16 turned metal barrels 105 mm (dual-purpose guns)
  • illustrated assembly instructions

Turned metal barrels – a quick model upgrade

Replacing the plastic barrels from the base kit with turned metal barrels is one of the simplest ways to raise the realism of a ship model. Metal barrels have even walls, crisp muzzles and correct proportions that are hard to achieve with injection-moulded parts. For assembly we suggest using cyanoacrylate glue, which provides a durable bond between metal and plastic.

About the ship – Bismarck class:

Bismarck and Tirpitz were the largest battleships built for the German Kriegsmarine. The main armament consisted of eight 380 mm guns arranged in four twin turrets.

Bismarck became famous for sinking the British battlecruiser HMS Hood, and was then sunk herself in 1941. Tirpitz spent most of the war stationed in Norwegian fjords.

Technical data of the original:

  • Type: battleship
  • Main armament: 8 x 380 mm guns
  • Secondary artillery: 150 mm guns
  • Dual-purpose artillery: 105 mm guns
  • Navy: Kriegsmarine
