Description

Eduard Brassin (3D print) FAB-250 bomb set in 1:48 scale

The Eduard 6481196 is a 3D-printed set of four Soviet FAB-250 high-explosive bombs of the Cold War era, in 1:48 scale. The set lets you complement the underwing stores of an aircraft model with the characteristic bomb load of Soviet-built aircraft.

The printed bomb bodies reproduce the shape and surface detail, and the included decals allow markings to be applied. The parts form ready-to-fit external stores.

  • Decals

  • Manufacturer: Eduard (Brassin Print 3D line)

  • Accessory type: underwing stores (bombs)

3D-printed parts – fine detail unattainable with injection moulding

Brassin Print 3D accessories are produced using direct 3D printing, a technology that reproduces very fine and spatially complex details that are difficult or impossible to achieve with classic injection moulding. The parts replace the corresponding plastic parts of the base kit, raising the level of detail of the finished model.

The 3D-printed parts should be cut from their printing supports, cleaned up and attached with cyanoacrylate glue. Because the details are delicate, it is worth using precision tweezers and working carefully. The printed parts take paint well once primed.

About the bomb – FAB-250:

The FAB-250 is a Soviet general-purpose high-explosive aerial bomb of approximately 250 kg, developed after the Second World War and widely used by Soviet aviation and by countries operating Soviet equipment. The low-drag M-62 version of 1962 was intended for carriage on the external hardpoints of fighter-bombers, which is why it frequently appears in the typical loadout of Cold War-era aircraft.

The bomb is an unguided design with a nose fuse and a steel body housing the high-explosive charge. The FAB-250 was used in numerous conflicts in the second half of the 20th century.

Original specifications (FAB-250):

  • Type: general-purpose high-explosive aerial bomb
  • Mass: approx. 250 kg
  • Length: approx. 1.92 m
  • Diameter: approx. 0.3 m
  • Explosive charge: approx. 100 kg
  • Guidance: none (unguided), nose fuse
  • Country of origin: USSR
